Concert News MIDTOWN CONCERTS, Manhattan's weekly early music series, announces its ninth
season and exciting new location!
Concerts every Wednesday at 1:15 p.m.
between Sept. 5, 2007 and May 21, 2008 St. Bartholomew's Church, Park Ave. at 51st Street, Manhattan Free Admission Midtown Concerts, the community outreach program of free lunchtime concerts administered by The Art of the Early Keyboard, Inc. (ARTEK), has
moved to a new, spectacular location in the fall of 2007: St. Bartholomew's Church at Park Avenue and 51st Street. The concerts (formerly located at the Church of St.
Francis of Assisi) will remain on Wednesdays at 1:15 p.m. and admission will still be absolutely free. Midtown Concerts' ninth season will feature an
outstanding roster of ensembles and soloists, representing the best early music performers from the
New York metro area and beyond. The majority of the concerts will take place in St. Bart's' acoustically excellent Chapel. All concerts will last approximately 35 minutes.
The inaugural concert of the season will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 1:15 p.m. and will feature Duo Appassionata (Gwendolyn Toth and Dongsok Shin) in a concert of virtuoso
four-hand music for fortepiano. The last concert of the season will be held on Wednesday, May 21. Concerts
will be held every Wednesday between those dates with the exception of February 6, 2008 (Ash
Wednesday). Up-to-the-minute concert information and information on the artists and ensembles can be found throughout the year at www.midtownconcerts.org.
St. Bartholomew's Church is located on the east side of Park Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.
There is an accessible entrance, with elevator to the main church level, at 109 East 50th Street.
Concerts are free and the general public is invited to attend; no admission or suggested donation will be requested and no tickets or reservations are necessary.
