Ensemble Viscera: Papal States
Ensemble Viscera, founded to recreate the virtuosic plucked-string ensembles of the Renaissance and Baroque, will perform ensemble music for lute, theorbo and guitar from
Rome and Bologna.

This program features mezzo-soprano Barbara Hollinshead in arias of Johann David Heinichen, and instrumental music by Johann Kuhnau and Georg Philipp Telemann.

Songs Without Words from the Renaissance
Poetical Music The acclaimed consort showcases the viol's particular gift for imitating the voice in "songs without words" from both vocal and instrumental sources of Renaissance Italy, Spain, and England.
